Description
German born skipper Andree Hammerschmidt has been around boats all his life, having grown up on the west coast of Africa. In 1988 after extensively sailing the Mediterranean and the Australian waters with his Italian/Dutch wife Maria and their two sons he settled in Costa Rica in the early 90’s.
Mandingo Sailing began with skipper Andree sailing the Lemuria, a 50 classical schooner yacht all the way from France. He crossed the Atlantic ocean on a 24 day journey and sailed through the Panama canal, to finally settle in Tamarindo Beach, on the west coast of Costa Rica.
Skipper Andree is a well experienced and cautious captain who has a lot of tales to tell while he guides the traditionally gaff rigged schooner through the pacific waters off the Tamarindo coastline.
