Introduction
The term Wearable Electronics originates from the research into Wearable Computer initiated by MIT. Philips Design brought the idea of Wearable Computing closer to the consumer market by developing in cooperation with Levi the ICD+ Jacket in 2002. This Jacket was the first attempt to create a consumer product based on Wearable Electronic technologies.
Since then, Wearable Electronic evolved, though slowly, to a new trend in the Fashion and Electronic world that merges Clothing with Electronics.

talk2myShirt is a Weblog who's aim is to provide up-to-date information on Wearable Electronic products with reviews and links to shopping sites. It provides the young business of Wearable Electronics a place to link up to consumer and for the consumer a place where to get all relevant information.
But talk2myShirt covers also topics like technical background information, research activities and book reviews. A special section is dedicated to Do-It-Yourself in Wearable Electronic. The DIY section shows how everyone can design and create his/her own Techno Fashion items.
There are many Websites and Weblogs that cover Wearable Electronics but they are often 'cluttered' with items other than clothing and fashion accessories like glasses and watches that have electronic functions integrated. This can be of course classified as Wearable Electronic as well, in certain sense, but this definition is not what talk2myShirt's understanding of Wearable Electronic is. The therm Wearable Electronics is also often used to attract attention for traditional electronic products because their small size allows to carry them in a pocket. They are incredible small but again, such products do not classify for Wearable Electronics in the way talk2myShirt is using it.
talk2myShirt is about textiles, fabrics, clothing, bags and other fashion accessories that have electronics integrated. The key point is that textile materials are the starting point to classify and justify the term Wearable Electronics.
