Tag You're It was founded on October 24, 1999. It was started as a Yahoo! Club (yes they were once called clubs). The first story was started by Talia and was titled Midnight's Daughter.
The Yahoo! Club became very member heavy, but actual activity cycled through with no or very few members staying and participating consistently. As any Yahoo! Club or Group member knows, the number of members you have on record is never the number of members who participate. Afterwards it was split into two parts: the place where members chatted and the place where stories were told. TYI was considered a private club, and you had to have read the rules to join... or at least ask to be let in.
As we grew so did our options for location. We moved to MSN Communities for a short while and then in January of 2002 we purchased our own domain and in May of the same year we installed our own forums powered by phpBB. In early 2006 we decided to change our format once again - this time to a wiki.
