From Astronauts and Bruins, to Supersonics and Westars, and finally to the Kings of basketball - such has been the journey of the current three-time NBL defending champions, the Trendwest Sydney Kings. It's a trek that stretches back 27 years, to a time when the sport was played in tin sheds accommodating less than 1000 people for the most part - a time when professionalism, pay television and private ownership were considered fantasy, when players wore short shorts and played more for the love of the game than anything else.
