Our Family run business began with "Small World Collectibles" in 1993. We purchased an existing year-round Christmas store in 1994 and named it "Sunriver's Christmas Village". In 1996 we expanded our animation department into our third store, "Celebration of Animation". The three shops were all started In Sunriver, Oregon and have since relocated into nearby Bend, Oregon in March of 2000. Our Bend Store offers over 2000 square feet of retail space where we are open 7 days a week. The "back-room" houses our shipping and receiving department, warehouse and offices where we produce and manage this website!
The Small World's Main Street Emporium concept came to us from the way the stores developed and were added through the years. The idea came to light while spending time in southern California at Disneyland. Walking down main street, going in one store and out another, it came to us that we liked the way each store had it's own look, yet all under one roof. Since we started with Small World Collectibles it grew into Small World's Main Street Emporium!
As the years go by the kids get bigger and one by one they have all learned to help our customers. Our oldest hopes to be a professional baseball player some day and with all the support that dad can give him, one just never knows. My youngest is a little entrepreneur herself as well as being a great sales person, with all her freckles one can't resist. The middle child loves to scooter in and out and sometimes he helps customers but his biggest asset is his ability to take out the garbage!
