Since 1940, credit unions have been looking after the financial needs of members in Southwest Saskatchewan. As a result of an amalgamation of two credit unions in Swift Current, Southwest Credit Union Limited was formed on November 1,1993. We serve approximately 25,000 members in Southwest Saskatchewan through our branches in Cabri, Climax, Coderre, Frontier, Gravelbourg, Gull Lake, Hazlet, Hodgeville, Lancer, Pennant, Ponteix, Shamrock, and Swift Current. And now, we are in the process of merging with BCU Financial! We are accountable to our members through a local board of directors who establish policies and report on results.
Investments of our members stay in the community, and are available for loans to other community members. Interest paid on the loans also stays in the community, which helps to achieve greater prosperity for everyone. Southwest Credit Union is a strong supporter of the communities we serve and often join forces with other co-operatives to sponsor community projects.
