SIERRAVISTA— If there is one thing veterans understand, it is being away from families during Christmas. So, Christmas Eve day, through the hard work of American Legion Post 52’s auxiliary, veterans and other supporters made it their operational mission to visit veterans who because of old age or poor health are calling area nursing homes and assisted-living facilities their holiday homes this year. Alice Milner said the annual program — now in its 15th year — grows every year.
