In December 2001 we sighted our first Shiba Inu and were immediately fascinated by this little red dog that looked like a fox and had character and presence much greater than it’s body size.
Thus our journey into the world of Shibas began. Since Kao joined our family, a whole new world has opened up to us with her bringing so much to our lives. We are constantly amazed by the unique abilities and intelligence of the Shiba Inu.
It is only as the years pass that we have realized that she has slowly taken over our household and lives. Originally Kao was an outside dog, banned from the couch and the bed, and sleeping in her kennel each night. Now she controls the three-seater couch and a double bed in which we manage to find limited room to sleep ourselves.
