After serving in the United States Army, he entered into business in Houston, Texas in 1966, doing business as George H. Stevenson Co. providing steel fabrication and related design services for the manufacturing and construction industry.
The customer list included Texas Industries Inc. - Precast Concrete Structures Operations, Brown & Root, H. A. Lott, W. S. Bellows, and Telepsen construction companies.
Our design and fabrication service was always provided on purchase order and a substantial activity involved specific-item problem solving, special design and fabrication. We assisted Mr. Andrew Hacker, engineer with H. A. Lott Construction Co. in the design and development of a connecting clip for firmly joining and keeping alignment of steel concrete form module assemblies. This clip was patented and was produced in significant quantities by H. A. Lott Construction Co.
