As of August 1st 2006, Kodak is no longer processing Kodachrome film. Never fear, all isn't lost! As more and more giant corporations seem to drop the ball, it seems as though the small mom & Pop businesses are stepping up to the plate. For the past 50 years Dwaynes photo has been offering great photo services, and they will remain processing Kodachrome for as long as there is a demand. They will officially be the only Kodachrome Facility in the WORLD!
We are located in Los Angeles, CA. If you are in the Los Angeles area, The Echo Park Film center is the walk in retail super 8 store, providing repair, telecine, rentals, and sales (one of the few remaining retail stores specializing in super 8).
Over the past several years, many repair shops have stopped repairing 8mm equipment, even though super 8 is still alive and well. The main reason for this change is do to the scarcity of replacement parts. I have acquired many new parts, used parts, and delve into remanufacturing certain critical parts. I have been repairing super 8 for several years and for many different businesses. Super8stuff was born as a means to keep super 8 alive. Unlike many other repair people, I am a filmmaker at heart and 90% of my films are shot and projected on that wonderful medium SUPER 8. My technical background and a passion for super 8 has rendered a service that hopefully will keep super 8 around for the next generation of filmmakers.
