On August 5, 1915, 36 Stockholders met to organize the Minot Farmers Cooperative Elevator Company,which later became Farmers Union Elevator some 20 years later. On August 1, 1997 the Minot Farmers Union Elevator Co. system merged with Harvest States Cooperatives. The terms of the merger provided for the formation of a brand new regional division of Harvest States Cooperatives called SunPrairie Grain. Since our start-up even more history has been made regarding consolidations.
