It all started in August 2003 when one Charlottesville, Virginia based founder decided to market a folding Adirondack chair developed and manufactured by Richey Industries, Inc.
Originally intended as a beach/mountain cabin lounge chair because of its wide flat arms, laid back posture and down to earth attitude, Summerseat introduced its first model, the View™, in December 2003. From there, popularity mushroomed. Sales poured in. By 2004 Summerseat had become a bona-fide phenomenon, universally accepted as an all purpose lounge chair for comfort, relaxation and fashion.
From 2003-2004 Summerseat focused on accommodating our remarkable growth while maintaining control. Today, Summerseats are available all over the world on the internet as we continue to significantly improve all aspects of our business.
