The Sugeo Kennel unofficially began in June of 1998 when Milo came to live with us at the age of 2.5 months. He was my first Tibetan and he quickly introduced my husband and me to the wonderful and fascinating world of the Tibetan Terrier! By the age of nine months, he had learned how to open all of the doors in our home and because he had no knowledge of money or utility bills, he never learned to close them! He was very intelligent and understood everything we said. Shortly after Milo arrived on the scene, it became very clear to me that I need another Tibetan, and so nine months later, Angel came to live with us. She was one of the sweetest, most adorable puppies and her personality was completely different from the personality of her brother, Milo. About a year and a half later, we adopted Precious from the Camelot Kennel in Chicago. Precious arrived at our home when she was eight weeks old and was as “trying” as she was “precious”. However, she grew up to be the sweetest, most wonderful adult dog I have ever had. With the birth of her first litter in June of 2003, the Sugeo Kennel officially began. Meanwhile, we adopted another female, Holly, who added yet another Tibetan personality to our mix and kept one of the female pups from Precious’ litter, Sabrina.
Unfortunately, during this time, we discovered Angel had cataracts in both of her eyes. She had the surgery which restored her vision but this serious health problem, which was hereditary, would not permit us to breed her. We were fortunate to find her a wonderful home with a great lady in California. Angel is truly living like a princess and she is very happy.
So there you have it. The Sugeo Kennel currently consists of four very spoiled Tibetans who all live in the house with us and are members of our family. When we have puppies, they are raised in the house with us and spoiled right along with the other Tibetans. All four of our Tibetans are AKC Champions. Milo has sired one litter to date, Precious has had two litters, and Holly had her first litter in June of 2005. We are anticipating that Sabrina will have her first litter in the late spring of 2006. (Please see the "Champion" and "Coming Up" sections for more information.)
