Suburban Area Agency on Aging Home
Description
In 1974 the Illinois Department on Aging designated the Suburban Area Agency on Aging to plan, coordinate, and fund programs and services for older persons age 60 and over in suburban Cook County. The Area Agency, a not-for-profit corporation, distributes funds to more than 35 local community agencies to provide services such as senior nutrition programs, transportation and housekeeping assistance to older persons in suburban Cook County. Services are supported by the Older Americans Act, Illinois General Revenue Funds, local funds, charitable foundations, grants and individual contributions. The Area Agency, along with its network of senior service agencies, is a prime source of information regarding senior services.
