Description
St. Vincent Meals on Wheels is the largest privately funded meals program in the country. Every day, we prepare and deliver nutritious meals for those who are alone and hungry across Los Angeles.
Of our 2,000 home-delivery clients, more than 500 receive meals specially prepared for their medical needs or personal preferences. Instead of daily delivery, 225 of our clients prefer to receive a week’s worth of frozen meals. About 900 clients also receive cold suppers to eat later in the day. Our 200 neediest clients, who depend on us for everything they eat, also receive breakfast.
Who We Serve: From January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2006, the program served a total of 978,360 meals – an average of 2,680 meals per day.
