Security Technology Systems ( STS ) is a subsidiary of Programmable Power Supply (PPS), an original equipment manufacturer established in 1996 to provide custom electronics to industrial customers. In response to changing market conditions after the terrorist attacks of 2001, PPS underwent an effort to diversify its product line. PPS began manufacturing frame grabber boards for a European provider of image processing software for security applications. This quickly broadened into data processing hardware integration and system development. Over a brief period of time, it became evident to PPS that the existing market structure in the security industry did not adequately service the end user. Therefore, PPS formed STS as a mechanism to directly address security concerns of these customers.
