John Townsend is a professional consultant working in the fields of Stress Management and Executive Management Training. His clients include some of Australia's largest companies and many State and Commonwealth Government Departments. He regularly works with Chief Executive Officers through an Australia-wide organisation called The Executive Connection. His association with TEC covers a period of 14 years and he has received the highest awards that TEC bestows upon its Resource Speakers including Speaker of the Year.
Formerly a Salvation Army Officer, John Townsend has been working with people from all social backgrounds for more than 20 years. He was responsible for the establishment of 2CHY-FM, Australia's first youth broadcasting station.
His work among young people was recognised by Australian Jaycees in 1978 with the presentation of an "Outstanding Young Australian Award".It was through his community work as a Salvation Army Officer that he became interested in the field of stress management.
