This is the official website for Strathcona Lodge No. 77 A.F. & A.M., 10433 83 Ave, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We are a Masonic Lodge on the Register of The Grand Lodge of Alberta.
Origin and Purpose
In early 2001, the Worshipful Master appointed a website committee. The terms of reference were to design and create a low maintenance website. The general intent being to communicate timely information to members of Strathcona Lodge, other members of the Craft, and the general public. The website went online on Thursday, December 6, 2001.
Technical Information.
The website is designed to be accessible with any browser. For example, images, basic non-proprietary JavaScript and Cascading Style Sheets are used to beautify and enhance, but are not necessary to use the site. Settings such as font size are not coded into the page, allowing the visitor's browser defaults to operate as intended. Where practical, PHP is used to automate site content. Webpages are validated for conformance to W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) recommendations and other standards.
