Stratagem Group, Inc. is a billing and accounts receivables management firm located in Augusta, Georgia. Stratagem is a privately-held firm not affiliated with any physician staffing or contract management company. Its CEO, Dr. Robert Polglase, is a board-certified practicing emergency physician and emergency department medical director. Founded in 1997, Stratagem provides coding and billing services to hospital-based physicians in the specialties of emergency medicine, radiology, as well as hospitalists and intensivists (critical care). Our focus on these three specialties allows us to develop our expertise in three very complex areas of physician billing and to serve our clients well.
Stratagem’s corporate culture emphasizes service, both in service to our clients and service to their patients. We understand the nature of the medical billing business is that of a relationship business, and we are here to make that happen. We value long-term relationships with our clients. We still have our first billing client. Unlike larger billing companies that have an acceptable contract attrition rate, we have none. Our service is personalized and we give our clients a high level of individual attention. Each of our accounts is supervised by an account manager. The account manager is not a salesperson, but a billing professional dedicated to that client’s account who is directly responsible for managing your practice’s accounts receivable. Our telephones are answered by real people during regular business hours. Our account managers and other members of the management team, including our CEO, are always available by telephone or email.
Our corporate culture also places a high value on compliance. Each employee is responsible for performing their jobs in a compliant manner. Our compliance program is managed by our in-house corporate counsel who serves as compliance officer and is available to consult with coders and billing staff on a prospective basis. The counsel’s office is also responsible for HIPAA compliance.
