Description
The church is a tired idea for our culture today, a place which seems institutionally irrelevant. Aren't there better things to do? We are not seeking to simply recreate what we ourselves find so empty. Instead, we are concerned with creating something new, and experiencing something unique. If the church were about spirituality, about the experience of real community, wouldn't it be different than so much of what we see and hear?
We believe that what was originally intended and known by the early church, thousands of years ago, was something worth knowing and seeking. A community knit together with love and giving itself to others. Reaching out to the suffering and the outcast, and defining itself by outward love and service. A community which is seeking God, to actually experience a vital connection with who God is. We do not believe that these things are just tired theology. We believe in the living God.
The first is knowing God through worship. That is why our Sunday worship time is central to us, and from that point springs everything else we do. Knowing God becomes something personal and transforming, creating bible studies, learning opportunities, community, and service.
