I was an “older mom” about to have my first child, expecting to have a normal pregnancy, but nature had other ideas. I ended up having to be in the hospital almost a month before my son was born early. Since I had dreamed of being a mom all of my life, it was a bit disappointing not being able to attend any of my baby showers.
