Welcome to Saint Mark's Episcopal Chapel! We are a diverse community of believers from all parts of the world, thanks to our location on the University of Connecticut campus in Storrs. We invite you to come and join with us as we give thanks for God's many gifts and ask God's blessing on our ministry in sharing the hope of Christ's Resurrection in the world. We are a chapel that seeks prayerfully to discern and nurture the ministry of all people of God whether they are teachers, bankers, social service providers, students, retirees, children. As our Lord urged the earliest disciples, we invite you to "Come and see!"
St. Mark's was begun by a group of Episcopalian faculty, students and townspeople in the late 1930's. This group met regularly for worship in the meeting room of the Storrs Congregational church. Through the generosity of Margaret Fitch Brewster of the Hartford Cathedral congregation, St. Mark's Chapel was built and consecrated as a Mission Chapel of the Diocese in 1958.
Young Life, a non-denominational youth ministry has been active for 5 years in the Storrs area. Led by a UConn graduate, Vince Gierer, Young Life offers a variety of opportunities for young persons to explore and deepen their faith in Christ.
