Matt Robison, left, and Craig Schell, are experienced guides with a combined 15 years in the Beartooth Wilderness. They are looking forward to sharing their knowledge and experience with those interested in pursuing a great outdoor vacation. They'll help make your Montana visit an experience of a lifetime! These guides are hard working and dependable with gentle mountain horses for which no riding experience is necessary.
The early season elk camp has been located about five miles north of the Yellowstone National Park boundary for over 35 years. The success rate on elk has averaged about 50%. Its one of only two areas in Montana were you're able to hunt elk during the bugle with rifles. It is a rigorous hunt ranging in elevations from 7,000 feet to 10,000 feet. This hunt is not for the weak of heart. It takes experienced guides and much determination to get in range of a big herd bull, but the experience and sense of accomplishment is next to nothing you've ever done before.
Summer pack trips will take you to some of the best fly fishing and scenic backcountry around. And when you hook up with an 18" native cut throat trout on slough creek or catch more brooke trout than I can talk about up on the lake plateau, all you'll want to know is "when's the earliest time you can get back up to the high country in Montana."
