It all started with a simple sketch of church property. St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church pastor Celestin Chambon sent a note and a small sketch to His Grace James H. Blenk, Archbishop of New Orleans. Several months before, Fr. Chambon exchanged parishes with Fr. Louis Laroche. Chambon had been instructed by Blenk to establish a parochial school for the religious education of St. Anthony parish’s children. By the end of December Chambon had begun the ground work for the new school.
