- The South Sudan Institute of Democracy and Peace (SSIDP) is a private, independent, nonprofit organization created in 2005. It is committed to promoting sustainable democracy and peace in South Sudan, based on active citizenship, democratic institutions and social justice. SSIDP is governed by a nonpartisan Board of Directors and an Executive. It has membership drawn from South Sudanese at home and abroad. People of other nationalities have also joined SSIDP as members, and are contributing effectively in the promotion of democracy and peace in South Sudan.
