Description
To prepare for a large gathering of friends and family Steve worked “after hours” at his sail loft to create a space that would accommodate his growing guest list. He applied his design skills and working knowledge of technical fabrics to create a unique and elegant tent canopy.
In the years to follow, Sperry Tents became a small company that Steve and his wife Mo operated in conjunction with the sailmaking business. Relying on family to build the business, son’s Tim and Matt served as labor while learning the principles of their father’s tent trade. When son matt was brought in to the design and manufacture side of the business, Tim partnered with yet another family member, Peter Fortier and the two of them took the business to another level.
Today, hundreds and hundreds of tents later, Sperry tents is still growing with its newest office recently opened, by peter, in the beautiful Mad River Valley, VT.
