The success of our business is interdependent on the success of our customers. Spectron is committed to developing close relationships with our customers person to person. By openly sharing knowledge we will improve both businesses simultaneously.
Spectron NZ Ltd has undertaken many changes since its inception in 1981. In those early days, we were known as "United Electronics Ltd" and our focus was on the supply of components to educational institutions and the thriving hobby market existing at the time. As the company developed I was aware there was a need to supply components to wholesalers around the country for local distribution. Consequently in 1988 I began importing and distributing components from Asia.
Since this time the company has continued to develop and we have adapted to the expanding market and have strived to meet the needs of our customers. Part of this evolution has been in our change of name to Spectron NZ Ltd and the acquisition of other companies to further strengthen our customer base. Establishing branches in Auckland and Christchurch, whilst maintaining the branch in Palmerston North as our administration centre, has enabled us to support our customers throughout the country. We have developed many strong ties with our suppliers in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore and Australia and are able to utilise these relationships to source products as our customers require.
