Solomon, retired vascular and general surgeon, established Solomon's Collection & Fine Rugs retail outlets in 1990 as a result of his life-long passion for oriental carpets. Originally named Newbury Street Rugs for its location on Newbury Street in Boston, Massachusetts, the name was changed in 2000 to reflect the growth of the business to include the sale of fine antiques as well as growth in Boston and the move to the current, larger showroom at 809 Hancock Street (Rt. 3A) in Quincy near the Wollaston T stop. Today, the discriminating buyer can select from among thousands of quality carpets from Iran (Persia), Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Tibet (Nepal), Turkey, the Caucauses, and the rest of the world.
