Reflexology in Wolverhampton - Kate Corr Reflexologist Midlands
Description
I came to reflexology around ten years ago by seeking treatment for myself after a deep emotional trauma which had physiological effects. I immediately felt soothed by the treatment and that I'd gained from it some of the relaxation I so badly needed and was unable to get from normal sources (such as sleep!) When my reflexologist said she was going to teach reflexology at a local college my first thought was, 'You can learn this magic?' So I achieved my Diploma (IIHHT) in 1996 and have been practicing ever since. My professional organisation is the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT).
For around two years, I gave one day a week to reflexology at a local hospice. This was on a voluntary basis, and I gained so much from working with terminally ill patients. During the second year, I was on the comittee for the newly formed National Association for Complementary Therapists in Hospice and Palliative care.
I also went to Sarajevo for two weeks in 2001 through the Healing Hands Network. The aim was to give reflexology to people who had suffered emotional and physical injuries through the war. Again, I gained a tremendous amount from this intensely thought provoking experience.
