Socialists today need to work towards the recreation of a mass party that will really represent working-class people - a party that will fight corporate global capitalism and put people before profit.
Through activity, discussion and debate we aim to play a part in the vital process of socialist renewal - and invite you to join us. The Socialist Solidarity Network is anti-capitalist and stands for revolutionary change. We are Marxists but reject the sectarian and dogmatic approach to Marxism that has inflicted much of the far left.
Blairism may be riding relatively high but New Labour has revealed itself as a party tied firmly to the interests of capitalism. It refuses to renationalise the railways and now wants to privatise air traffic control and the tubes. It has imposed tuition fees on students, refused to restore the earnings link for pensioners and pursued a racist policy towards asylum seekers. The rich now pay less tax than even under Thatcher, yet the NHS and education are still starved of cash. Abroad, New Labour has sided with US imperialism in the war and in defending big business interests in Palestine and Iraq.
