Founded October 5, 1964 in Washington, DC as part of the SBA (Small Business Administration) to provide hands-on management assistance and training to small or new potential businesses.

Today SCORE is still a resource partner with the SBA and has provided counseling to over five million clients through February 2005. There are over 11,000 counselors nationwide with 389 offices located across the country.

The San Luis Obispo county chapter was formed in 1984 and is headquartered in the Creekside Center, 4111 Broad Street in San Luis Obispo. We are retired and professionally active executives who are providing advice to entrepreneurs that wish to start, fix or expand a business in San Luis Obispo County.
