The New Zealand Skydiving School was first established in 1981 and is the longest established sky diving organisation in New Zealand. Since then, we have trained thousands of skydivers and skydiving instructors and have helped people of all ages and nationalities to enjoy the excitement of skydiving safely. We offer skydiving instruction in both accelerated free fall and a NZQA Diploma in Commercial Skydiving and we are proud of our exceptional reputation for quality and safety.
The School is directed by Steve Smith whose skydiving history dates back to 1972. He has been involved as Technical Director and executive member for the New Zealand Parachuting Federation and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the School. Steve remains actively involved with product development and operational supervision. Furthermore the school employs some of the most knowledgeable internationally qualified instructors in the industry with impressive levels of experience (see profiles below).
The New Zealand Skydiving School has drop zones located at Wigram Aerodrome, 15 minutes from the centre of Christchurch ; at the base of Mt Hutt skifield approximately 1 hour drive from Christchurch and in Kaikoura approximately 2 hours drive north of Christchurch .
