It's a website designed to be a complete, free, independent and unbiased resource of information to tourists (and to local residents) who are looking for information about the town of Skipton. We don't charge for links out. If you have a site that is relevant (and you're not a buffoon), you get a link. For free. Simple as that.
Ok, obviously, since we built and maintain the site, it has some bias. It contains our opinions. What we mean is that the site is not built on bias. It's not run by a committee or a group that has a vested interest in excluding outsiders. This site was designed from the very beginning to involve (and to link to) everyone.
There is no money involved. We run this for free. Links out are free. Yes, this site costs us time and money to run, and we stand that ourselves. Frankly, we run this site at a loss. The only benefits we get are good karma and words of praise and encouragement. Plus the fact that every so often, somebody with money sees this site then calls us us and says "I'm impressed. And I have money. Would you build me a site, too, please?"
