Greener Pastures Ranch, LLC is located approximately 35 miles southeast of Tallahssee, FL on Hwy 19. The 100 acre farm is spacious with beautiful rolling hills. A 29 stall barn with indoor (60x110) riding arena is visible from the road. GPR also has a 6 stall barn, outdoor ring, 9 turn-out paddocks, and 7 large pastures. The facility is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm for walk-in visitors and by appointment on weekends and evenings
In the late 1950s while living in Miami, Florida, Henrietta purchased a Quarter Horse for her family’s enjoyment. One horse turned into two horses and pleasure riding turned into showing. In 1967, Henrietta was introduced to the Paso Fino at a local farm and within a few years, she was fully immersed in the breed running Greener Pastures Ranch (GPR) and breeding horses under the stable name “Sin Par”. In 1967, she purchased a three-year old Colombian stallion, El Pastor, a remarkable horse who significantly impacted the Paso Fino breed in the United States and has been the foundation of the GPR program. Through the years, Henrietta has meticulously shaped her breeding program to produce those traits she feels are most important including gait, athleticism, tractability, and conformation.
Henrietta has had the unique perspective of watching a breed grow here in the United States. And, she has left her mark on our association’s history. Specialty classes were introduced at Henrietta’s urging and she wrote the first rules for these classes. In 1980s, Henrietta flew to New York, New York to meet with American Show Horse Association (now United States Equestrian Foundation) to petition for the Paso Fino’s acceptance in the show world. Also, Henrietta has been involved with numerous national committees, held a Senior Certified Judge’s card, and is a member of the Professional Paso Paso Fino Horse Trainer’s Association. In 2002, her contributions to the breed and the association were recognized when she was elected to the Paso Fino Horse Association Hall of Fame.
