Title
Simply Wonderful - Jill Freeman M.S.T.A.T. Teacher of the Alexander Technique
Description
I first came across it in the U.K. in 1976 at a time of great unhappiness. Immediately it made the unbearable bearable. Then, there were no teachers in the North of England, which is where I was living. Six years, three job and as many house moves later, I was able to start having lessons! Eventually, I gave up my career to do a three year STAT approved training course in London, qualifying as a teacher in December 1991.
I enjoy every aspect of teaching the Technique be it strategies for chronic pain, discovering a different quality of sound from a musical instrument or dealing with workplace stress. My aim is to enable the people I teach to use the principles of the Alexander Technique in their daily lives.
My professional background is as a teacher, both of children and adults. I have a long standing interest in conventional and complementary medicine especially those approaches which link physical and psychological well-being.
