- About Simply Nice Gifts
- Simply Nice Gifts began in 2006 as a small business venture of an artist, Mary Elizabeth Walls, and was founded when she turned a gift she gave to her mother many years earlier into an unexpected business quest. That gift was a small picture she had painted as a child of an apple and jug of cider sitting on a wooden bench with a handwritten sign reading "CIDER" hanging underneath. In the fall of 2006, Mary took that picture off the wall and devloped blank note cards in unique packaging for her family to use. Mary began painting and developing new cards and called her cards Simply Nice because they had a simple picture on the front and a meaningful and nice message inside. An Aunt soon began taking the cards to her worksite and selling them, giving Mary the idea that maybe some nearby stores would also like to sell her cards to the public. After a few months she had her Simply Nice note cards in over 60 stores and 4 states. Today the collection of cards she has hanpainted reaches above 200 and continues to grow and gain popularity. Mary has also added custom invitation with coordinating party supplies, home decor items, and gifts to her collection of products offered to the public.
