SiliconBlue designs software to automate the management of web assets; web-sites, intranets, extranets, applications and portals. With our technology, IT organisations have the opportunity to provide users with a self provisioning and administration capability in a safe and controlled way removing themselves out of the process.
SiliconBlue started as a regional Internet Service Provider (ISP), Contact Internet, in New Zealand in 1998. The company developed the OcoLoco software platform to remotely control its own ISP infrastructure and to minimise customer support costs by reducing the technical complexity of service provision.
OcoLoco version 3 was released to the first New Zealand customers in January 2000. It was sold to web designers on an ASP basis, providing remote access and control over SiliconBlue's hosting infrastructure. Web developers and designers, with little knowledge of website hosting infrastructure, now had a simple means to deploy, maintain and manage websites at their hosting services provider (HSP) from anywhere via the Internet.
