Our Gallery was formed 35 years ago by a group of local artists and has been in continuous operation since that time. At present, there are about twenty members who take turns as curators in the Gallery, so if you visit, you will become acquainted with one of them.
The purpose of the Sierra Artists Cooperative Gallery is to stimulate and assist in the development of visual arts skills of residents of the foothill area of California and to provide a facility for the display and sale of their work. The artists also strive to increase the awareness of Mariposa as a place to find affordable art.
We are self-supported with the assistance of patrons and businesses in the area. All media are displayed in the Gallery, including oil, acrylics, watercolor, pastels, pen and ink, and photography. Recently, miniatures have been added to the collection.
