Description

About Sidcot

An education at Sidcot School doesn't mean just attaining academic examination success. Instead Sidcot strives to give pupils essential life skills which they will take with them forever; from academic capabilities to social learning skills. This is achieved by the school's focus on nurturing students' relationships with both teachers and their peers. The result of this has been a long history of maintaining respectful and friendly atmospheres throughout the whole school; from the youngest infant pupils to the eldest eighteen year-old sixth form students.

While academic prowess is always of high priority at Sidcot, the school believes that a full education should be far broader than this. Learning is best treated as an enjoyable experience in which self-development through individual expression and interaction with peers during group-work is valued. As one of the UK's quaker schools, Sidcot prizes religious faith as another important part of learning. Sidcot has been a pioneer in co-education and the pastoral care of its community since the first Quaker school was founded here in 1699. The challenge that Sidcot sets itself is to develop the talents of every child to full potential, a goal the school has proudly excelled at for many years.
