Description
About Reflexology
The earliest known practice of Reflexology on the hands and feet dates back nearly 5000 years to Egypt and has been practised in one form or another in China, Japan, India and by the First Nation peoples of North America. It is now an internationally recognised complementary therapy combining the traditional knowledge of ancient communities with modern research.
The treatment works points on the feet and hands, known as reflex points, and each relates to a specific area or system of the body. The feet and hands are in effect maps of the body. By applying directed pressure, tension and blockages can be broken down and free flow of energy to the whole body is promoted. The part of the body connected to the reflex point is also cleared, allowing the body to heal itself.
With Reflexology, the whole person is being treated. Energy continually flows throughout our bodies on all levels, physically, mentally and spiritually. By clearing tension and blockages, the body finds its own natural balance on each of these levels.
