- About Shooting Times & Country Magazine
- Shooting Times was first published on 9 September, 1882, under the title “Wildfowler's” Shooting Times and Kennel News. “Wildfowler” was the nom de plume of the inaugural editor Lewis Clement, formerly the kennel reporter in chief to The Field. Priced at one penny, the magazine ran to four printed pages and featured regional reports on the start of the partridge season, field trial results, as well as articles on choice of gun and teaching your dog how to retrieve.
