Where did the idea for the name come from? One day, after overhearing an Autralian guy say to one of his friends , “She's a Sheila”, meaning "What a cute woman!", I thought to myself "What a great name for a business!". The concept behind the name is that when seen with a “She's a Sheila” bag or hat, you will inevitably hear “She's a Sheila” as you pass by. After all, beauty is in the bag!
How long has “She's a Sheila” been in business? She's a Sheila held a private purse and hat party December of 2002, hosted at Woody's pub in Minnesota. The business slowly began to grow from that day forward, and continues to grow every day.
Who designs and makes the bags and hats? Currently, the founder, Angie Davis, is the only designer and sewer of the bags and hats, which are all originals. As the business grows, SAS plans to establish itself as a "cottage" industry. All bags and hats are made in the USA, and the intention is to keep it that way.
