- The San Gabriel Valley Family YMCA offers an incredible array of opportunities for you and your family. Many families have "grown up at the Y" through preschool, afterschool programs, family camping or swimming lessons. The San Gabriel Valley Family YMCA was founded in 1912, born out of the resident's desire to enrich the quality of life. Overseen by its members, who volunteer to serve on the Board of Directors, it is managed by other volunteers and paid staff. For almost 100 years, the YMCA has provided answers to the community's changing needs.
