San Francisco Tsunami Swim Club
Description
The Tsunami Masters Swim Club is located in San Francisco, California. Our team was founded in 1986 and since then has fostered the highest ideals of sportsmanship, physical and mental well being and community spirit. We provide a safe space to nurture your love of swimming, and make friends at the same time.
The team offers coached workouts for swimmers of all levels from developmental to intermediate to championship caliber. At minimum Tsunami participants must be able to swim a minimum of 200 yards of freestyle (crawl stroke) without stopping and a total of 2000 yards per 1.5 hour workout. It is recommended (but not required) that you also be able to swim backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. These strokes can be learned and improved as you swim with the team.
We participate in Pacific Masters Swimming (PMS) meets, providing a competitive outlet for those so inclined. In addition, we're involved in the International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics (IGLA) organization and are a proud member of Gay Games.
