Description
Established in 1989, the San Francisco Choral Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to choral activities. Since then, we have shared our joy and enthusiasm for choral music with more than 50,000 concertgoers.
Our year-round program offers singers the opportunity to perform major choral works with professional orchestras and soloists and to collaborate with other organizations. We also provide low-cost music instruction in the form of classes and workshops. This auditioned chorus has earned a reputation as one of the most accomplished choruses in the Bay Area.
Recently we were invited to join in the tenth anniversary celebration of the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts' Wattis Artist-in-Residence program performing the world premier of While I Was Walking, I Heard a Sound . . . , a choral work by composer Miya Masaoka. In our Fall 2003 concert, we were honored to present the world premier of Ubi Caritas by Kirstina Rasmussen.
