- In 1976 founded a two-person computer consulting and management company in Quebec called CGI
- Company has now grown to be among the largest independent information technology and business process services firms in North America
- Served as president of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal
- In 1996, he received a special distinction from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi, in appreciation for his lifetime professional and business achievements as well as his personal involvement in social issues
- Awarded two honorary Doctor degrees - a Law degree from Concordia University and a Doctor of Management degree from Université Laval
- Recently joined the University of Waterloo’s board of governors
- Participates in many charitable and community organizations
