Products
PTI Securities provides three main products:
- The Protected Index Program® is a managed money program or separately managed account (SMA) that permits customers to invest in the stock market and match the investment risk to their personal profile. The Program has been acclaimed by the Wall Street Journal and Pensions & Investments magazine.
- Discount online stock brokerage service that gives investors the ability to place stock trades online or by phone and receive PTI brokers’ assistance as needed.
- PTI’s ProDirect platform gives self-directed traders who need minimal broker assistance the ability to trade. This is the most popular platform for independent traders.
Protected Index Program
As of Dec. 31, 2008, PTI Securities reports that its Protected Index Program has beaten the S&P 500 by 56.04 percent over the past 10 years, and beaten the Russell 2000 Index (IWM) by 45.08 percent since its inception. [1])
Given the strong 2008 performance of PTI's Protected Index Program, Pensions & Investments magazine recognized PTI Securities as one of its “Top Performing Equity Managers.” [2] And, the Wall Street Journal cited PTI's Protected Index Program as one of the best performing separately managed accounts or SMAs, and it noted that separately managed accounts (SMAs) have outperformed mutual funds in 22 of 26 stock- and bond- market categories from 2005 through 2008. History
Before establishing the privately owned firm, Thomas and Dan Haugh and their other senior management were long-time traders at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE).
