Semi Anonymous Edits
When editing AboutUs a user does not have to sign contributions. Some believe that not using names when signing or responding to comments helps to avoid Ego Problems (EPs).
These kinds of edits are semi-anonymous rather than completely anonymous because the revision history actually contains the complete record of all contributions. The form of the Revision History is somewhat tedious to untangle, so only highly motivated individuals (spam-cops, nobel committees, etc) will sort through them to untangle who said what to whom and when.
