The Euro (€) is the official money on the French side. The Netherlands Antillean guilder (naf) is the official money on the Dutch side. However, the United States dollar is widely accepted, as are credit cards and traveler's checks. You most often find prices in US dollars or in all three currencies. When paying with cash or credit card, you should tell the cashier which currency you prefer to use for your transaction. Do not forget to verify the exchange rates. Many banks, ATMs, and currency exchange booths are available around the island.
