Description
In the early 1990s the National Trust acquired and restored a fine example of a High Victorian garden at Biddulph Grange in Staffordshire. The garden was originally designed and created in the mid-19th century by James Bateman. When the National Trust reopened the Garden I designed and produced a cross stitch kit depicting some of the principal features of the garden. This was very popular and proved to be the first of a range of National Trust cross stitch kits - there are now more than 50 designs in the collection.
Until recently the kits displayed on this site have only been sold through the National Trust retail outlets and a very small number of specialist needlework shops. We have sold more than 20,000 kits - a tribute to the quality of the designs and the kits. Equally, it reflects the strong interest in the subjects of the designs. We have now decided to offer the kits through this on-line shop. Most of the kits displayed in this shop are our National Trust cross stitch collection. In addition however you will find our Scottish collection and some traditional samplers.
